GoDaddy Hacked!!!
Recently, GoDaddy, one of the world’s largest web hosting and domain registrar companies, suffered a security breach that lasted for multiple years. The attackers were able to access the company’s network, steal source code, and install malware on its servers after breaching its cPanel shared hosting environment. While the breach was discovered in early December 2022, it is believed that the attackers had access to the network for several years.

How Does The Hack Affect Me?
This breach highlights the importance of cybersecurity and the risks associated with relying on a single hosting provider. Companies must take steps to secure their online presence and consider moving to more secure hosting platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS offers better security, scalability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility, which can help reduce the risk of a breach and protect businesses from cyber threats.
GoDaddy has confirmed that the same group of sophisticated threat actors carried out this attack as well as the previous breaches disclosed in November 2021 and March 2020. In November 2021, GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress hosting environment was breached, leading to a data breach that affected 1.2 million customers. The attackers gained access to sensitive information such as email addresses, passwords, and SSL private keys. In March 2020, 28,000 customers were alerted that an attacker had used their web hosting account credentials to connect to their hosting account.
GoDaddy is currently working with external cybersecurity forensics experts and law enforcement agencies worldwide to investigate the root cause of the breach. The company has also found evidence linking the threat actors to a broader campaign targeting other hosting companies worldwide over the years. The apparent goal of the attackers is to infect websites and servers with malware for phishing campaigns, malware distribution, and other malicious activities.
How Should I Save My Web Presence From The Attack?
