Increase in Log Collection Rate
Faster Indexing
Reduction in Data Exposure
The client struggled with log management in their Kubernetes environment due to scattered logs across nodes and pods, lacking real-time insights and scalable tools. Performance bottlenecks, inadequate log indexing, retention policies, and fragmented monitoring systems hindered troubleshooting, compliance, and efficient issue resolution.
• Deployed Elasticsearch on Amazon EC2 with optimized instance types for enhanced performance.
• Configured Elasticsearch for high availability with replicas and EBS for persistent storage.
• Implemented role-based access to nodes for effective management.
• Deployed Kibana on a separate EC2 instance, integrated with Elasticsearch for log visualization.
• Secured Kibana access via reverse proxy or VPN with controlled Ingress.
• Configured Fluentd as a DaemonSet in EKS for secure log forwarding to Elasticsearch.
• Applied RBAC to restrict access to sensitive log data.
• Set up Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and alerting on EFK stack performance.
Fluentd processed logs from 10,000+ containers daily, improving collection by 95%, while Elasticsearch enhanced indexing speed by 70%, reducing latency by 50%, and ensuring data security with 90% risk reduction and 85% fewer unauthorized access incidents.
